Most materials in RO@M are shared freely online, and can be accessed by anyone via the Internet. Be sure to select "Available in RO@M" to the left of search results to locate these materials.
Restricted access to works include the following cases:
Unless otherwise noted on the item itself, or in the item’s descriptive record, you may use works in RO@M as you would any other creative or scholarly works on the Internet in accordance with appropriate copyright and citation guidelines. When citing an item in RO@M, please include the digital object identifier (DOI) or permanent link to the item record.
The search box at the top of the RO@M website enables users to search items in RO@M using simple keywords and standard Boolean syntax (AND, OR, NOT). To search for exact phrases, put quotation marks (“) around the phrase.
After performing a search, results can be filtered in a variety of ways (e.g., by year, department, language, availability). Once results have been narrowed, they can be expanded again by removing filters at the top of the search results page.
From the Browse page, users can browse works in RO@M by faculty or staff author/creator, or by department. Here users can also view just those works by undergraduate students.
Because contribution to RO@M is voluntary, and because of copyright restrictions, not all works by the MacEwan community can be found here.
A number of books and other types of physical items are listed in the Library catalogue using the subject heading MacEwan Scholarly and Creative Works.
