Abstract (summary)
This project is a redesign of the public domain book A Christmas Carol. The redesign take of this book was done in allowing for an elegant and traditional cover, with the colour blue enhancing winter and spirits rather than red and green for Christmas. The inside design of the book starts out as your traditional elegant design story, while moving through the story there is ghost type or grey words that appear behind the original text, that explains the story and idea of the spirits or ghosts taking over the pages more and more towards the end of the story to show how haunting it and its big impact made on the story and life of Scrooge who is the main character of the book. The type shows up more with bolded type and the readable text breaking apart creating space in the lines. Overall the design was to explain the strong impact of the spirits on changing Scrooge's life from being a greedy grumpy old man to a nice and humble old man.
