A guided teaching strategy to explore the elements of nursing practice through an aesthetic and philosophical lens can help students understand how to integrate their personal selves into their future roles as professionals. A personal philosophy that draws insight from a clinical example highlights the dichotomy between idealism in nursing education and the realities of clinical practice.
