Item Giotto's remorse(1982) Mallon, DarciThe mask worn by the female referenced a Japanese Noh theatre mask entitled, "The Blind Weakling." Although the artist was not the female in the painting, the image was essentially a self-portrait. Acrylic on four canvas covered panels, 11 feet x 7 feet. Collection of the Alberta Foundation for the Arts.Item Remnants of a self-portrait(1980) Mallon, DarciThis installation was comprised of four portraits painted with acrylic on resin and white lighting forms. The forms (masks) were mounted on steel. The work reflected an interest in understanding the construction of identity and the contributing factors from personal relationships.
