Abstract (summary)
The colonization of South America brought with it negative changes for the conquered peoples, who were not only denied their rights and ancestral customs, but were also forced to work for the colonizers. At the same time, while the western coffers were enriched, the resources of various types were extracted for the benefit of the invaders. This uncontrolled plunder of South America did not end with the always glorified 'independence.'
