Abstract (summary)

Nursing faculty must prepare graduates as knowledge consumers and innovators to improve digital literacy. The 4As –refers to Academic Integrity, Acquisition, Analysis, and Application, while the ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence app (created in November 2022) https://openai.com/blog/chatgpt that can quickly gather information for the user. The fourth technological revolution is here and nurses as members of a discipline we must reimagine and build bridges to address the widening chasm currently evident between education and practice. An innovative learning assignment utilizing ChatGPT as an adjunct knowledge assist was explored from both a student and faculty perspective. Insights and recommendations for further course enhancement are offered.
