Frequently Asked Questions
Who can access works in RO@M?

Restricted access to works includes the following cases:
- MacEwan User Access: If a published version of a work cannot be shared openly and no other open access version exists, the repository links to a copy of the work in the MacEwan Library collection so that MacEwan users may access it and so that its metadata is still discoverable to external users.
- Embargoed Works: If a publisher or author has placed an embargo period delaying access to a work, the item will become available at a future date.
- Restricted Access: Some previously deposited student work is only available to MacEwan users by email request, as indicated in the records for those titles.

How do I find works by MacEwan authors and creators not in RO@M?
Because deposit in RO@M is voluntary and because of copyright restrictions, not all works by the MacEwan community can be found here. We recommend emailing the authors or creators of works not available in RO@M directly to request a copy or check with your local library.
Many MacEwan faculty and staff publications are available through the MacEwan Library, including electronic copies via library subscriptions and physical copies of several books and CDs collected through the library's MacEwan Authors initiative.
