Artifacts from the ancient world are essential in order to help develop the modern day understanding of society. However, not only is the presence of these artifacts an effective way to help develop and further the knowledge, there are also times where the lack of information behind these artifacts can hinder the understanding or add questions. This essay will use the examples of the Parthenon Frieze and the Column of Trajan in order to create an understanding of the impact ancient artifacts had on the understanding of the ancient Graeco-Roman world.
