Four marine piston cores from the central Canadian Arctic Archipelago (CAA), investigated for sedimentology, micropalaeontology, and biogeochemistry (52 AMS radiocarbon dates), uniformly show the prominent early Holocene (˜10 cal ka BP) appearance of planktonic foraminifera immediately following deglaciation.
